Just a quick one this week because I haven’t got too much spare time.
Firstly, England beat Germany. In a tournament. For the first time in 25 years. Again, England beat Germany. Wow. Thanks to goals from Sterling and Kane and a 21-minute masterclass from my Player of the Tournament-prediction, Jack Grealish. That man is next-level amazing.
Wales unfortunately didn’t make it through after getting defeated by Denmark, so it’s left to England to fly the flag for the Home Nations in a match tomorrow night against Ukraine. Come on England!
This week, I’ve been updating the photos for all of my products due to the quality of them being, well, a bit rubbish. Intentionally rubbish though, but still not great.
There’s a fine line to doing this and I’m still learning. You want the images to represent well the print that it’s selling, but you don’t want it to be that good that people could just save the image and print it off for themselves. Obviously stealing people’s works is bad and breaches all copyright laws, but fundamentally it means that the creators of the work will have spent time and energy making the image and not be paid for it.
Initially, I put low quality versions of my work on the site, with the idea that people would be able to see the image, but it wouldn’t be good enough to print off for themselves, but I’ve now learned that people want to zoom right in and check out the quality of the work right up close. With my original images, the quality right up close was poor because I’d intentionally designed it like this. Now, I’ve realised the quality needs to be increased and so I’ve added MaadWeb watermarks to some of the images to discourage copyright infringements. They don’t impinge too much on the images so you should still find them acceptable but it saves me from having worked for nothing. I do hope you understand. Please do let me know if you have any thoughts/ideas.
The other problem that raising the image quality brings is that the pages might take a little more time to load. I’ll just have to put up with this for now, but I am working on a few things to speed the site up. This will make the experience of using my site better for all users and I’m sure Google will appreciate it too.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Come on England! Let’s make the semi’s!

“ I am a self-employed plasterer who wanted to advertise my business on Google. I contacted MaadWeb to find out my options. I found Adam very helpful over the phone, we arranged a meeting at my property and from there I was given the advice I needed. I made my decision on what I wanted and he put everything together for me. I am now advertising my services on Google. I found Adam to be very professional at his job and I am very pleased with the outcome. He told me to not hesitate to contact him if I needed to make any changes on the listing on Google or a website build. Thank you so much! ”
