Today I went to the cinema today for the first time in (what feels like) three thousand years. It felt so strange to do something that I regularly used to do but haven’t been able to for 15 months or however long it’s been. The cinema has been turned into a deluxe version, so leather recliner seats all round. Wipe clean for the teenagers, I suppose. I loved it, and what’s more, I forgot how much I loved it. Watching a movie on a massive screen with booming surround sound. Wow. I really need to do it more.
As it’s the school holidays, I didn’t get to choose the movie we watched but at least the kids didn’t choose something rubbish. I gave them the choice and they settled on Space Jam 2 which I was happy with because the original Space Jam was ace. And Lebron James is a legend. Now, I’m no film critic but this movie was a mixture of film, animation, and live action (much like the original but obviously more advanced), and as such was right up my street. You know how much I love illustration. This film was a masterclass and gave me a lot of ideas of designs I could do in the future, because, let’s face it, basketball is a brilliant sport and provides a lot of great human shapes (??) – think the Nike Air Jordan logo.
I’ll have to make sure I don’t leave it so long next time because I enjoyed it so much. The only problem is that the kids want to watch the Paw Patrol movie next.
My current obsession is Football Manager. It was such a dangerous idea to turn it on with the small amount of free time I’ll have over the next six weeks and everyone who has ever played it knows that a little nibble will inevitably turn into a massive bite when it comes to FM. Anyway, I’ve taken QPR to the Europa League, so yes, I’ve been playing it a lot, and yes, it really isn’t a good use of my time. Why QPR? I don’t support them but I’ve always had a soft spot for them. Might be something to do with Pete Doherty, might be something to do with Trevor Sinclair, who knows? Either way I’m bringing the good times back to the Kiyan Prince Stadium and the board think I’m untouchable. So there.
Anyway, that’s all for this week, I’ve got a big tie against Fenerbahce to prepare for.
Today’s boxset: Kathy Burke: Money Talks. Just watch it.

“ I am a self-employed plasterer who wanted to advertise my business on Google. I contacted MaadWeb to find out my options. I found Adam very helpful over the phone, we arranged a meeting at my property and from there I was given the advice I needed. I made my decision on what I wanted and he put everything together for me. I am now advertising my services on Google. I found Adam to be very professional at his job and I am very pleased with the outcome. He told me to not hesitate to contact him if I needed to make any changes on the listing on Google or a website build. Thank you so much! ”
