Home » A Quick Update
So, the summer holidays are finally over and the kids are back at school. Well, for a short time anyway.
Within a week, I’d received three or four emails from the school telling me about Covid in the classroom, so it was inevitable that we’d get it in the household. Fortunately, only the boy had it and his symptoms were mild. It didn’t spread to anyone else (thank you Vaccine people!) and now life can resume to some sort of normality, hopefully.
It’s been busy at MaadWeb HQ, with lots of work being done behind the scenes. New designs are being created, I’m beginning to think about marketing promotions that I can use to increase the exposure of my site/work, and I’ve been thinking about ways to make you lovely people happy regardless of if you are a newbie or an, erm old-bie (‘existing customer’ is probably the correct term). So, come on, let me know what you want to make you happy and I’ll do my best to make it happen. Within reason.
On a personal note, my new covers band that I started during the dark lockdown days had their first gig a couple of weeks ago. Man, I so enjoyed it. I forgot what the buzz of being on stage felt like, and I think everyone at that festival was just grateful to hear live music. We were very well received and have already had some gig offers. Rest assured no MaadWeb-related activity will suffer as I’ve been dedicating time to this for over a year now, but it would be great to see some Maad customers at a gig in the future. Give them a follow on Facebook – The Stop Startz (named after our stuttering formation due to lockdowns and Covid). I’m the one shlapping da bass.
Getting back to normality has also allowed me to carry on converting my long-lost cassette collection into digital so I’ve been rediscovering a lot of music that I haven’t heard for 20-odd years. A word of warning: this may have influenced some of my current design projects. So, if you love 1990’s music there may be one or two (probably a lot more!) things that might interest you coming up. Also, make sure to get in touch if you come across any old tapes (audio or visual) and I’ll put them onto a format that you can actually use. If you don’t know what’s on them, I can just check and let you know before you make the commitment. Nobody wants to pay money to have me convert a Sunday afternoon recording of the Eastenders omnibus from 1985 do they?
Anyway, I best get off, I’ve got a lot of stuff to be doing. See you next Friday, unless I get trapped under a massive pile of Smashing Pumpkins cassettes that haven’t been used since I sold my Peugeot 205 in 2002.
Today’s Soundtrack: Glastonbury 2000 (on cassette, obviously).

“ I am a self-employed plasterer who wanted to advertise my business on Google. I contacted MaadWeb to find out my options. I found Adam very helpful over the phone, we arranged a meeting at my property and from there I was given the advice I needed. I made my decision on what I wanted and he put everything together for me. I am now advertising my services on Google. I found Adam to be very professional at his job and I am very pleased with the outcome. He told me to not hesitate to contact him if I needed to make any changes on the listing on Google or a website build. Thank you so much! ”
“ I've known Adam for a few years and he did a great job proof-reading and tidying up my site. It looks great now! ”
“ Working with Adam was a pleasure. In developing the website, Adam added lots of value and was able to recreate our vision. The process was very efficient, helping us launch additional services quickly. The finished site is high quality and really cost effective. We are looking forward to continuing to work with Adam on upcoming projects and would highly recommend Adam's skills and services without hesitation. ”
