Inspired by Denmark and AC Milan’s hero, Simon Kjaer. Kjaer was the guy who was first on the scene when Cristian Eriksen collapsed, clearing his airways and making sure he hadn’t swallowed his tongue. He then formed a protective wall around the resuscitation scene so that it couldn’t be broadcast. And finally, he went to console Eriksen’s wife while she was in bits pitch side. Understandably, Denmark lost their first two Euro 2020 games, but then Simon Kjaer, like the true captain he is, dragged the team through to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, Denmark ended up losing the semi-final to England with Kjaer scoring an own-goal, although if the ball hadn’t have hit Simon Kjaer it would have surely would have fell to Raheem Sterling to score instead.
