Home » Illness Calls
So, my car still isn’t back from the garage but the signals are good. I suppose I’ll just have to wait and see.
To be honest, it is a bit of a pain in the behind not having a motor, but I’ve been ill this week so it hasn’t bothered me as much as it could have done. I’ve been driving my wife’s Peugeot 208 which is surprisingly roomy for a tiny car. I do feel a bit like Hightower in Police Academy whenever I use it though. And there’s a reference that I doubt young people will get.
I took it as an opportunity to rejig my website, which has been on my to-do list for ages now. I’m still not completely happy with it – is anyone? – but structure-wise it’s better, and I created some new pages that I’ve been meaning to do.
I must have caught this horrible cold (it’s not the ‘spicy cough’, I’m pretty sure of that) in Manchester at the weekend at Neighbourhood Festival. I spent the day in Canvas waiting to see Lovejoy with hundreds of other people breathing all over each other. I’ve been in busy situations since Covid but not like this, so after two and a half years of taking it easy and not-necessarily-consciously self-distancing, it was inevitable that I’d catch some sort of super cold. If I’m being honest, it feels like the flu, but what can you do about it? I wasn’t quite ready for the hospital, and I do feel like I’m getting better. You just have to ride it out. I’m a warrior, aren’t I?
So, there we have it. A very (welcome) quiet week at MaadWeb HQ. This is another crazy thing that I’m finding out about being self-employed – one week you can be rushed off your feet, the next is quiet as a mouse. It’s so odd. I could do with a bit of consistency. I hope it picks up next week.
Peace out x
This week’s boxset: Remember, Whitechapel? It’s being repeated on Drama. I love a good murder programme. This isn’t one.

“ I am a self-employed plasterer who wanted to advertise my business on Google. I contacted MaadWeb to find out my options. I found Adam very helpful over the phone, we arranged a meeting at my property and from there I was given the advice I needed. I made my decision on what I wanted and he put everything together for me. I am now advertising my services on Google. I found Adam to be very professional at his job and I am very pleased with the outcome. He told me to not hesitate to contact him if I needed to make any changes on the listing on Google or a website build. Thank you so much! ”

“ Working with Adam was a pleasure. In developing the website, Adam added lots of value and was able to recreate our vision. The process was very efficient, helping us launch additional services quickly. The finished site is high quality and really cost effective. We are looking forward to continuing to work with Adam on upcoming projects and would highly recommend Adam's skills and services without hesitation. ”
